Gillette Stadium; Foxborough, MA
Food- 9.3/10
I was almost overwhelmed with how many options Gillette had. Shrimp cocktails, beef tenderloin sandwiches, steak, salads, as well as your normal stadium food. Not only did they have a wide selection, it also tasted really good. Went with a pretzel, cheeseburger, fries, and a bottle of Pepsi. I think it all ended up being around $40, which is really the only downside but is pretty on par with most stadiums. The pretzel was really buttery and had a lot of salt, which I like. The burger was the best stadium burger I have had up until this point.
Atmosphere- 7/10
They played the Texans and lost 41-21. It was Drake Maye's debut and the Pats are pretty trash this year so I wasn’t really expecting a very energetic crowd. However, with good plays and Maye turning in a pretty decent performance, the crowd definitely got loud. Can’t even imagine how loud it was during Brady’s days. Really passionate fan base that has seen immense success and deeply cares to get back to that point.
Stadium- 8/10
The stadium was great. Easy to get in and out, easy to navigate. Clean, modernized to a certain extent. Absolute massive videoboard in one of the endzones. I sat in the club section for this game, best club section I have ever been in. Tons of seating area, lots of restaurants, every other NFL game was on on multiple TVs. I could see someone forgetting theres a football game going on and just relaxing and chilling in the club section. I thought it was really cool they had a replica lighthouse that they did pregame activities at.
City- 7/10
Foxborough is a nice place. Traffic getting out is definitely not fun at all. Not too much in the city to do, a couple of stores and churches and neighborhoods. I stayed in downtown Providence, really cool city, very walkable, lots of bars and great restaurants.
Overall- 8.2/10
The Boston area has been spoiled over the past couple of decades with all the championships, but that hasn’t hampered the passion and enthusiasm they have for their teams. Gillette is a super cool stadium to see with a great crowd, with people who are about their team no matter if they’re in a Super Bowl or fighting for a #1 pick in the draft. I highly recommend sitting in the club section (the red seats in the second tier) if you can, especially if its a cold day out, purely for the heated indoors and the food.
