Wrigley Field; Chicago, IL

Food- 5/10

$26 hamburger and souvenir drink. Really slim selection on food. Grab what you want and some device scans what you get and charges you for it… still asks for a 16%, 20% or 25% tip for doing everything yourself. I got my burger about 30 minutes before the game started. It was dry, shriveled up, and room temperature. Not impressed at all.

Atmosphere- 6/10

The Cubs lost to the A’s 4-3. I really enjoyed the live organ that played throughout the game, best part of the atmosphere honestly. It just felt like people came to Wrigley as an after work mingling spot with a baseball game on in background. No one was really into the game until the Cubs got a hit or run. However, with how Wrigley is designed, it is actually pretty loud in there from all the conversations going on, which was actually kinda cool later into the game. Also something I noticed was that people were coming in with backpacks and giant purses, which I thought was odd considering all stadiums I have been to since 2020 have been clear bag policies or bags under a certain size. And it being Chicago of all places was weird to me.

Stadium- 6/10

If you strip away the history aspect of Wrigley, its really just a very average stadium. The gate I was supposed to enter I couldn’t even find because it wasn’t labeled. The paths to get to my seats were confusing, just a bunch of ramps along one of the walls of the stadium. The entrance to the 100 and 200 level seats is awkward, I was lost and turned around trying to find my seat. I was thoroughly disappointed with Wrigley.

City- 6/10

Much better than Southside Chicago I can tell you that much. I knew I was in at least a half decent area because I saw mothers walking their kids in strollers on the sidewalks. The area around Wrigley is decently policed, and very well policed before and after games. Not clean by any stretch of the imagination. Definitely has that hustle and bustle feel to it. Saw a guy peeing next to an ATM on the way back to the hotel after the game.

Overall- 5.5/10

From a historical standpoint, its a must see stadium in America 100%. From an environment standpoint, not a must see. Really average as I have said, subpar food, awkward stadium set up.
